Troubleshooting

My Petal isn't connecting or my device is not found, what should I do?

  1. Make sure your Petal is charged. If actively charging, the light will stay green and turn off when fully charged.

  2. Check and reset the Bluetooth® permissions for the Petal app:
(System Settings > Apps > Petal Wellness)

  3. Toggle Bluetooth® off and back on:
    (System Settings > Bluetooth®)

  4. After that, please check the state of the Bluetooth® connection on Petal by pressing the button twice. The LED will blink red if it has established a Bluetooth® connection with your phone.

If you're still having trouble, follow these next steps to reset Bluetooth® pairing:

  1. Connect Petal to the charging cable to reboot it.

    1. The LED will quickly turn green, turn off, and turn green again.

  2. Disconnect Petal from the charging cable.

  3. Within 30 seconds, quickly press the button twice.

  4. The LED will blink blue, then turn off — the device Bluetooth pairing is now cleared, and Petal is ready to pair again.

  5. Go into the Petal app and see if your device can be found and paired.

Note: If you press the button twice after the 30-second window has ended (or if there was no existing pairing to clear), the LED will instead blink red for 5 seconds, then turn off. This means the action was denied and nothing was changed. Disconnect Petal from the charger again and repeat steps 3 - 4.

How do I check if Petal is already paired?

Press the button once and the status LED will blink.

Blinking blue — Petal is not currently bonded to any phone (ready to pair).

Blinking white — Petal already has an active Bluetooth bond.
