How To Use Petal
Welcome to Petal! Here's everything you need to get set up.
What's in your box
- 2 Petal inserts — the left one has the sensors (look for the black circles on the inside). The right one is just for balance — wear it if you like, or skip it.
- Magnetic charging cable
- Travel bag
Set up Petal
1. First, charge Petal
Snap the magnetic charger onto your left insert. A green light means it's charging; the light turns off when it's fully charged. A full charge lasts about a week.
2. Download the Petal Wellness app
3. Sign up with your Google or Apple account.
4. Place Petal on a table, sensors side up, while charging — don't wear it yet.
5. Open the app and follow the steps to connect and calibrate. It only takes a few minutes.
6. Once that's done, you're ready to wear it.
You'll only need to do this once. If you ever need to reconnect, just repeat these steps.
How to wear Petal
- Best worn with a snug, close-fitting bra — this keeps it secure against your chest.
- The inside of the insert should sit flush against your skin — not inside a bra pad pocket, no liners underneath.
- The insert with the sensors always goes on your left side.
- Line up the bottom curve of the device with the bottom curve of your bra cup, tip pointing toward your strap.

- We recommend wearing Petal 4-6 hours per day while you are awake. Avoid activities that may submerge the device in water, such as swimming. Petal is moisture resistant but not waterproof.
- Data syncs to the app automatically.
Keeping Petal clean
- Sweat and buildup can affect readings so please be sure to clean and wipe Petal and your skin dry daily and after exercise.
- Wipe with an antibacterial wipe or damp cloth.
- Let it fully dry before wearing again.
- Do not submerge your Petal in water to clean it. It cannot be placed in your washer or dryer.
More tips
Petal shares your data with the Petal Wellness™ app. If the two become disconnected for too long it can result in delays or at worst lost data. Here are a couple of important tips:
- Leave the app running (no force closing). Force closing the app halts background data syncs which can create gaps in your daily metrics. You don't need to actively use it — just let it run behind the scenes.
- Keep your phone nearby. Petal syncs whenever your phone is within Bluetooth® range, updating your metrics automatically on its own. Ensure Petal is near your phone every few hours to keep data flowing smoothly.
