Sizing

Petal is one size. For the best accuracy, the sensors require snug contact with your body, so we recommend wearing Petal with a closer-fitting bra. If a traditional bra isn't for you, a closer-fitting support top or bralette is recommended.

Cleaning Instructions

Petal can be cleaned with any antibacterial wipe safe for use on the skin.

How to Wear

Wear Petal with a close-fitting top. Align the bottom curve of the device to the bottom curve of the bra cup — the pointed tip should align with the bra strap.

Petal is lightweight, soft, and discreet under clothing — built for regular wear.
Petal measures your heart's electrical activity passively at the chest. Unlike optical wearables, it emits no light into your body; it only reads the signals your heart already produces.
To measure tissue composition, Petal uses bioelectrical impedance — the same method used by FDA-approved smart scales. The current is imperceptible and one-quarter the strength of leading smart scales on the market.
Petal transmits data to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), not Wi-Fi. BLE is non-ionizing radio frequency, meaning it lacks the energy to break chemical bonds, damage cells, or alter DNA. It operates at a fraction of the power of a standard cellular or Wi-Fi signal.
Every material that contacts your skin is biocompatible. All fabrics are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, an independent standard that tests for more than 1,000 harmful substances. The exterior is a soft European-knit fabric; the interior is polyurethane-coated for durability and skin safety.
Petal's safety and clinical standards are defined by our medical leadership. Dr. Prionas, our Chief Medical Officer, is a UCSF radiation oncologist specializing in the detection, diagnosis, and management of breast cancer.
